As we close out 2017 and start to look forward to 2018 and beyond, I wanted to invite you all for a little chat about how we can make version 2 better than ever! I know at times it can be frustrating, so let's have an open dialogue about what works and what doesn't so that together we can make the best version of our blog yet. Over the next couple weeks I'll be speaking directly with our loyal readers. With that said, there are a few concerns that have come to light here in version 2. The blog has improved greatly since the relaunch of the site, but there are still some inherent issues with the design. Some things didn't make sense to me either. After looking at version 2 for quite some time now, I think there are some things I've learned that can make this blog an even better tool for you all! To start off, let's clear things up. There needs to be re-enforcement within version 2 for keeping track of posts and similar important information. For example, in version 1 there used to be a box with the username in the top left corner. This allowed you to click on it and see all of your posts, like this: So what changed in version 2? Well, let's start with the username box. The username box has been removed completely! I really think that it helped you guys stay organized among your posts. So, re-introduce the username box in a new box where you can place a static title for it. Next...Facebook posting! This has become a crucial part of version 2. Every time I log into Facebook, I see these many posts from people I follow, or likes from people who post on the page. These things just give me a sense of where I stand. It's important to know how to optimally promote your blog and for this, notifications aren't just the best way to do that. So let's have an admin option in UI that will allow you all to turn notifications on or off within the site! Lastly, there are some important changes that need to be made under version 2. As you all know, we rebranded the site and I think that it has been an improvement thus far! It's sleek and modern and it fits the blog nicely. There are still a few issues. The top links need to be more easily accessible. For example, when I'm on the newest post view, I should be able to get to the side bar by clicking on these three links: What I would like to see is version 2 looking like this: Then there's something else I'd like to mention!
